Angel Investment Program
The Illinois Angel Investment Credit Program is designed to offer a tax credit to interested firms or natural person(s)
who make an investment in one of Illinois' innovative, qualified new business ventures. The investment will encourage
job growth and expand capital investment in Illinois. The program can offer a tax credit to qualifying firms in an
amount equal to 25% of their investment made directly in a qualified new business venture.
Advantage Illinois
Advantage Illinois will accelerate investments and ease the credit crunch for small businesses, thanks to more than
$78 million from the federal State Small Business Credit Initiative (SSBCI) of the Small Business Jobs Act of 2010.
Advantage Illinois consists of three programs to spur institutional lending to small businesses and one program to
leverage private venture capital in start-ups and high-growth businesses.
Small Business Development Centers
One-on-one counseling, assistance with management, business plans and marketing; financial services; training.
SBDC provides specialized services in technology, innovation and entrepreneurial development.
Procurement Technical Assistance Centers (PTAC)
One-on-one counseling, technical information, marketing assistance, and training for companies interested in selling
products to government agencies.
International Trade Centers (ITC)
Information, counseling, and training for companies interested in pursuing international trade and exporting
opportunities.
Manufacturing Extension Centers (MEC)
For manufacturing companies assessment to improve performance, benchmarking, project managers to ensure satisfaction.
Small Business Environmental Assistance Program (SBEAP)
For business required to comply with state and federal air pollution regulations. Workshops, on-site visits,
